Recipe: Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake

Ingredients:

Crust:

1 – 3 oz. pkg cream cheese

1⁄4 cup firm butter

2 cups Bisquick

1/3 cup milk

1 can cherry pie filling

Cream Cheese Filling:

1 – 8 oz. pkg cream cheese

1/3 cup sugar

2 tsp lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 425° F.
  2. Lightly grease cookie sheet.
  3. Cut cream cheese and butter into Bisquick. Stir in milk.
  4. Turn dough onto well floured board. Knead lightly 8-10 times.
  5. Roll dough into 12” x 8” heart shape.
  6. Place on cookie sheet.
  7. Spread cream cheese filling down centre of heart shape.
  8. Make cuts 2 1⁄2” long at intervals down 12” sides.
  9. Fold strips over filling.
  10. Sprinkle generously with sugar. Bake until golden brown.
  11. Cool 10 minutes and spoon cherry pie filling down centre.
